Six current Swapface alternatives

1. Magic Hour: browser photo, video and GIF workflows

Magic Hour Face Swap runs in a browser and accepts your own media. Current guest routes provide five photo swaps per day and a shared allowance of three video or GIF generations per day without signup. Photo downloads are watermark-free; free video and GIF outputs include a watermark.

Choose the route by source: photo, video, GIF or multiple people. Magic Hour also provides a developer API. Signed-in editors and APIs use separate credit and plan rules, so do not infer production pricing from the guest allowance.

2. DeepSwap: hosted photo, video and GIF uploads

DeepSwap is a hosted browser option for images, videos and GIFs. It is useful when you want to upload a saved file without managing local models or a desktop camera pipeline.

Its current pricing page uses credits and plan-specific benefits. Check the supported length, file size, number of faces, credit estimate and refund terms before uploading a long video.

3. FaceFusion: local control and open source

FaceFusion is an open-source local face-manipulation project for images and video. The official site links the source repository and sells optional Windows and macOS installers. Choose it when local processing and configuration matter more than a hosted one-click flow.

You are responsible for installation, hardware, model files and model-specific licenses. Keep the exact release and settings with each result so the workflow can be reproduced.

4. AKOOL: API, batch and live production

AKOOL Face Swap documents image, video, batch, multi-face and live workflows. Its API documentation separates unified image/video endpoints from specialized routes. Choose it when an engineering or production team needs programmatic or live-camera control.

Verify the specific endpoint, credit quote, maximum input and result-retention period before production. Product-page quality claims are vendor claims unless you test them on your own footage.

5. Reface: consumer mobile and web workflows

Reface is a consumer face-swap brand with mobile and web experiences. Choose it when templates, casual mobile use or Reface's Unboring web tools match the job.

Confirm that the current route accepts the source and target media you want. Template animation, selfie restyling and swapping a face through an uploaded video are different workflows.

6. Remaker: another browser route

Remaker's photo face swap and its separate video tool provide a browser alternative. It remains relevant because some users want a direct hosted upload without local setup.

Remaker separates photo and video routes and uses different credit units. Read the displayed allowance and estimate on the exact page rather than carrying a photo limit into a video comparison.

Choose by workflow, not a demo clip

A fair face-swap test

Use a five-to-ten-second clip you have permission to edit. Include a front-facing moment, a head turn, speech, a temporary obstruction and changing light. Use the same replacement portrait. Record attempts, processing cost and human review time, then inspect identity, skin tone, edges, teeth, glasses, hairline and frame-to-frame stability at normal playback speed.

Do not upload a private person's face without permission. Label synthetic or materially altered media when the platform, audience or applicable policy requires it, and never use a face swap to impersonate someone or fabricate an endorsement.
