Make videos and images with AI.

DomoAI is an AI image-and-video creation platform whose strongest fit is stylizing existing footage, especially video-to-anime, while preserving the source motion. It also offers text-to-video, image-to-video, multi-frame and character workflows, talking avatars, lip sync, upscaling, and an enterprise API. Paid plans currently start at $13 month-to-month or $9 per month billed annually.

DomoAI is a good candidate when you already have movement you want to keep and need a new illustrated, anime, watercolor, or other visual treatment. Start elsewhere when you need conventional timeline editing, long-form assembly, or a model-specific workflow DomoAI does not expose. This review concerns DomoAI at domoai.app, the creative tool; it is unrelated to Domo, the business-intelligence company.

We checked DomoAI's product, pricing, help-center, and enterprise API pages on September 12, 2026. We did not run a controlled output-quality, lip-sync-accuracy, or speed benchmark. Provider claims are attributed to current documentation, and the test below is a repeatable way to evaluate the service for your own footage.

DomoAI at a glance

  • Best for: turning an existing performance or clip into anime or another visual style
  • Core video modes: text-to-video, image-to-video, frames-to-video, character-to-video, video-to-video, Omni Reference, and talking avatar
  • Editing tools: lip sync, style presets, reference images, screen keying, subject-only transformation, image/video upscaling, and related quick apps
  • Current named models: DomoAI 2.5 and 2.4.1, with integrated MiniMax H3 and Seedance options listed on current plans
  • Starting paid plan: Basic at $13 monthly or $9/month billed annually, with 600 monthly credits
  • Watermark: the help center says free output includes a watermark; current paid plans list watermark-free output
  • Relax mode: Standard and Pro list unlimited Relax generation on supported models; Relax uses no credits but may queue
  • API: a separate enterprise API for text, image, template, talking-avatar, and video-to-video generation
  • Main caveat: plan access, model access, duration, Fast/Relax availability, and credits vary by workflow

What is DomoAI?

DomoAI is a creator platform for generating and transforming images and video. Its product menu spans original generation, animation, style transfer, talking characters, lip sync, and enhancement. It can be used on the web, and the current help center still references Discord-based account and billing workflows.

The most important distinction is between generation and transformation:

  • Text-to-video creates a new clip from a prompt.
  • Image-to-video animates a still image.
  • Frames-to-video uses multiple frames to define a sequence.
  • Character-to-video applies a character to a motion or scene workflow.
  • Video-to-video restyles motion from an uploaded clip.
  • Talking Avatar combines a portrait or video with supplied or generated speech.

Choose the input mode first. A video-to-anime brief should preserve the source performance; recreating it from text solves a different problem.

DomoAI pricing in September 2026

The current DomoAI pricing page shows monthly and annual billing. The annual toggle displays a lower monthly equivalent but commits the buyer to the annual charge.

  • Basic: $13 month-to-month or $9/month billed annually; 600 monthly credits; up to eight active tasks; paid output without a watermark.
  • Standard: $42 month-to-month or $29/month billed annually; 2,200 monthly credits; up to twelve active tasks; unlimited Relax generation on supported models.
  • Pro: $142 month-to-month or $99/month billed annually; 8,000 monthly credits at the displayed base level; up to twenty active tasks; longer character and talking-avatar access; unlimited Relax on supported models.
  • Team: $142 per seat month-to-month or $99 per seat/month billed annually; the page displays $3,564/year for three seats and 24,000 shared monthly credits.

These are the offers displayed on the page we checked, not a promise of future renewal pricing or regional availability. Save the checkout screen and confirm taxes, credit reset, model access, concurrency, watermark, extra-credit price, and cancellation terms before buying.

DomoAI says subscriptions renew on the original billing date. Annual-plan credits reset monthly. The pricing FAQ says cancellation stops the next renewal but does not refund fees already paid.

Fast Mode and Relax Mode

DomoAI defines Fast Mode as priority generation that consumes credits. Relax Mode does not consume credits but can involve a queue. Standard and Pro advertise unlimited Relax generation only on supported models and workflows; Basic does not include Relax mode.

“Unlimited” therefore does not mean every model, every duration, or unlimited priority capacity. The current plan table lists DomoAI 2.5 and 2.4.1 with Relax access on supported paid tiers, while integrated MiniMax H3 and Seedance models are marked Fast Mode only. Check the mode beside the exact model before estimating volume.

Video-to-video and video-to-anime

DomoAI's video-to-video guide describes style transfer that starts from an MP4, MOV, or AVI source. The page recommends short three-to-ten-second inputs and documents more than 40 style presets, including anime, watercolor, oil-painting, and pencil-sketch treatments. A Fusion style can use a written prompt or reference image.

The source clip supplies timing, body movement, camera behavior, and scene progression. The model supplies the new appearance. That makes source quality unusually important: a blurry face, occluded hands, fast cuts, compression blocks, or motion outside the frame can become harder to repair after stylization.

The help center says original audio is preserved, and paid plans remove the watermark. Treat both as export checks: listen to the downloaded file and inspect the frame rather than relying on the preview or plan label.

Other DomoAI video workflows

The pricing matrix currently lists:

  • Omni Reference: four to 30 seconds in Fast Mode.
  • Image to Video: five-second Advanced generations in Fast or Relax, with ten seconds in Fast; Faster mode is also listed.
  • Frames to Video: one to 56 seconds in Fast Mode.
  • Character to Video: five or ten seconds in Fast or Relax; 20 or 30 seconds in Fast.
  • Video to Video: three, five, or ten seconds in Fast or Relax; 20 or 30 seconds in Fast.
  • Text to Video: five-second Advanced generations in Fast or Relax, with ten seconds in Fast; Faster mode is also listed.
  • Talking Avatar: five, ten, 20, 30, or 60 seconds in Fast Mode, with plan-dependent access.

Those entries describe plan access, not guaranteed usable duration. Confirm the current model and output settings inside the tool before designing a sequence around the maximum.

Lip sync and talking avatars

DomoAI's lip-sync documentation says lip sync is available in video-to-video, Talking Avatar, and character-to-video workflows. The provider also publishes a “90%+” accuracy claim for clear source videos. We did not independently reproduce that figure, and it does not define the language set, scoring method, sample size, or failure threshold.

For your own test, use a clean, dry voice recording with one visible speaker. Check plosives, closed-mouth sounds, pauses, head turns, profile frames, occlusion, teeth, and the first and final phonemes. A single percentage cannot tell you whether a specific name, language, song, or animated mouth shape works.

Does DomoAI have an API?

Yes. The DomoAI Enterprise API documents text-to-video, image-to-video, template-to-video, talking-avatar, and video-to-video routes. Its video-to-video endpoint accepts an uploaded video, a supported anime or illustration model, a duration, an optional prompt, and a callback URL.

The API is a developer product, not evidence that a consumer subscription includes programmatic use. Before integrating, verify commercial terms, rate limits, concurrency, file-size and duration limits, callback authentication, retention, retries, error billing, and a current enterprise quote.

A fair 15-minute DomoAI test

Use a five-second clip that resembles the footage you will publish. Pick a shot with one person or character, visible hands, a stable background, clear edges, and licensed audio. Keep the same source, trim, output duration, aspect ratio, and target style when comparing another tool.

Generate three attempts with one DomoAI style or Fusion reference. Record the selected model, preset, style prompt/reference, Fast or Relax mode, credits charged, queue time, failures, and exports.

Each output should pass these checks:

  1. The motion, camera path, framing, and timing still match the source.
  2. The subject remains recognizable without face, hand, clothing, or limb breaks.
  3. The chosen style remains coherent from the first frame through the last.
  4. The background does not pulse, disappear, or introduce distracting objects.
  5. Original audio remains present and synchronized when required.
  6. Lip sync matches the supplied track when used.
  7. The export has the expected resolution, duration, aspect ratio, and watermark state.
  8. No visible defect requires regeneration before the intended publication.

Calculate total credits and elapsed time per accepted clip. Keep rejected results in the denominator.

Best DomoAI alternatives by job

Magic Hour: broader video transformation suite

Magic Hour Video-to-Video is the direct starting point when you want to transform existing footage and continue into generation, animation, face swap, lip sync, or related image and video tools. It is also the relevant product route when your buying decision is broader than video-to-anime.

OpenArt: generation and prompt-based editing

OpenArt is worth comparing when you want text-to-video, image-to-video, and prompt-based editing in one creator platform rather than a workflow centered on fixed anime presets. Test the same source clip, target look, duration, and acceptance criteria because the available model and controls vary by workflow.

Runway: editing and production control

Runway is the stronger comparison when the job includes directed edits or a larger production workflow around the generated shot. Identify the exact generation or edit operation and separate web subscription billing from API charges.

Viggle: character motion transfer

Viggle is relevant when the central job is applying a driving performance to a character. It is narrower than DomoAI's image/video suite, which can be an advantage when motion transfer is the only requirement.

Production and rights checklist

  • Use source footage, characters, voices, music, and style references you have permission to transform.
  • Record the exact model, mode, preset/reference, prompt, duration, aspect ratio, credits, and generation date.
  • Review the entire clip for motion, identity, anatomy, background, style, audio, and watermark problems.
  • Check the current plan for commercial use, privacy, retention, cancellation, and model-specific restrictions.
  • Do not claim a generated result is authentic footage or an actual customer endorsement.
  • Keep a human editor responsible for factual claims, disclosures, and final export.

Frequently asked questions

Is DomoAI the same company as Domo?

No. DomoAI at domoai.app is an AI image-and-video creative platform. Domo is a separate business-intelligence and data company.

Is DomoAI free?

DomoAI offers free access with limits, and its help center says free video-to-video output includes a watermark. Check the current account for available credits and modes. Paid plans list watermark-free output.

How much is DomoAI?

As checked September 12, 2026, Basic is $13 month-to-month or $9/month billed annually; Standard is $42 or $29/month billed annually; Pro is $142 or $99/month billed annually. Annual prices are monthly equivalents for a longer commitment.

Can DomoAI turn a video into anime?

Yes. Video-to-video is a documented core workflow with anime and illustration models, more than 40 style presets, prompt or reference-based Fusion styles, and short source clips. Review the export for identity, anatomy, background, motion, and audio drift.

Does DomoAI keep the original motion and audio?

DomoAI describes video-to-video as preserving source motion and audio while restyling frames. Treat that as a provider claim and verify both in the downloaded result for your own clip.
