Between takes, the panda ambles away from its bamboo mark, drawn toward a crew member crouched nearby adjusting a light stand. Before anyone can react, it rises up on its hind legs and wraps its stout front paws around him in a surprisingly gentle hug, burying its face against his shoulder.The crew member freezes for a beat, wide-eyed, before breaking into a laugh. "Uh— okay, buddy, hi to you too."The panda gives a few slow, deliberate pats against his back with one paw, almost comically human in the gesture, as if returning the affection in kind. Nearby, the trainer chuckles, camera already raised on her phone, while the director waves frantically at the actual camera crew: "Someone get this on film, RIGHT NOW!"A ripple of laughter spreads across the set as the panda finally releases him, plopping back down onto all fours and ambling back toward its bamboo, entirely unbothered by the commotion it just caused.
