Best free AI video upscalers online (2026): real limits

The current pricing page lists free-plan video input up to 720p and credits obtainable by logging in weekly. Check the balance shown in your account and the charge for the selected filters. Input eligibility is separate from output resolution.

Start with a ten-second segment from your actual video. Include the face, lettering, or camera movement that needs improvement. Generate the sample, download it, and check its dimensions and visible result. Free also limits storage and processing

Checked October 10, 2026: TensorPix’s Free plan lists 1 GB of storage, one video enhancement at a time, up to four filters per video, and deletion of videos and images 30 days after creation. A free account can suit occasional short clips; it is not an archive or a batch-processing subscription.

Download and keep the source and enhanced file locally before clearing space. If an upload or processing request fails because storage is full, remove files you have already saved and try again. TensorPix states that it displays the final credit cost before an action deducts credits; check that quote rather than treating its approximate minutes-per-credit example as a fixed allowance.

2. CapCut: check the actual enhancement entitlement

CapCut documents an Enhance quality control in its Desktop editor. Import the clip, open Video > Basic, and inspect the available quality options. Confirm whether the operation and final export require Pro in your account.

Choose it when you already edit there and want to evaluate one segment without changing your workflow. The published instructions use Desktop, so do not assume that the same controls are available in the browser or mobile app.

3. VEED: useful adjustments, a different task

VEED's video enhancer describes browser adjustments to brightness, exposure, contrast, saturation, and sharpness. Those can help a clip that looks dark or flat. They do not by themselves establish recovery of missing detail through AI super-resolution.

If your source already has enough resolution, a simple correction may be all it needs. Inspect export restrictions before spending time on the full edit.

4. Video2X: a local alternative

Video2X is an open-source video super-resolution and frame-interpolation framework. It fits technical users who can manage installation and processing hardware. It is not an online service, and running the software still uses compute and storage.

Use a small segment to establish that the chosen model works on your machine before committing to a long video. Review the licenses for the software and model components you use.

A five-minute decision before a long upload

1. Find the best source file you have. Avoid a social-media download when the original recording is available.

4. Process the sample and watch the downloaded file at normal speed.
5. Compare it with the original at the same viewing size.
