How Moodboards Works
Build a visual reference once and reuse it across every tool
1

Upload inspiration images
Add individual images that capture the colors, lighting, textures, composition, subjects, or overall feeling you want to reference.
2

Compose your Moodboard
Bring the images together into one visual direction. Use references that reinforce the style you want your generated content to follow.
3

Name and save it
Give the Moodboard a clear name so you can quickly find the right aesthetic for any campaign, project, or creative concept.
4

Select it when you create
Open a supported Magic Hour image or video tool and choose your saved Moodboard from the References panel.
5

Add multiple Moodboards
Select more than one board when you want to blend visual styles, aesthetics, or creative directions in a single generation.
6

Generate in your chosen style
Magic Hour uses the selected Moodboards as visual references, helping your images and videos reflect their shared palette, texture, lighting, composition, and mood.
Moodboards Use Cases
See how a saved Moodboard keeps your visual style consistent across every tool, campaign, and creative concept.

Collect colors, lighting, textures, compositions, materials, and references in one Moodboard before generating your first image or video.
Use the same Moodboard across ads, social posts, product visuals, and video concepts so every asset feels connected.
Select more than one Moodboard to combine creative directions — such as vintage editorial photography with futuristic lighting or minimalist design with organic textures.
Gather references for locations, lighting, costumes, color grading, and atmosphere, then use the Moodboard to guide AI-generated scenes and videos.
Save the visual language behind a feed or content series and reuse it across new images, reels, thumbnails, and campaign assets.
Create different Moodboards for competing concepts, test each direction in generated content, and compare the results before committing to a style.
Combine product photography, materials, environments, and lifestyle references to establish the look of a launch or seasonal campaign.
Turn scattered reference images into a reusable visual direction that creators, collaborators, and clients can apply consistently.

Moodboards FAQ
A Moodboard is a saved collection of reference images that defines a visual direction. It can communicate qualities such as color, lighting, texture, composition, atmosphere, and artistic style. Select it in supported Magic Hour tools to guide the look of generated images and videos.
Upload individual inspiration images, combine them into a Moodboard, and save it to your library. When creating an image or video, select the Moodboard from the References panel and Magic Hour will use it as visual style guidance.
You compose the Moodboard yourself from images you choose. Magic Hour then uses the finished Moodboard as a reference when generating AI images and videos.
Choose images that clearly express the visual qualities you want, such as palette, lighting, texture, composition, environment, materials, fashion, or camera style. A focused set of compatible references usually communicates a clearer direction than unrelated images.
Yes. You can select multiple Moodboards to blend visual directions in one generation. This is useful for combining complementary aesthetics, introducing contrast, or exploring a hybrid style.
Magic Hour uses the selected boards together as visual guidance. The output may combine qualities such as the palette of one board, the lighting of another, and textures or composition from both. Results vary by prompt, source assets, tool, and generation settings.
Yes. Moodboards are designed as reusable style references for supported Magic Hour image and video creation workflows.
No. A Moodboard guides the visual direction rather than locking every generation to an identical result. Outputs will vary while drawing from the selected references and your prompt.
A Moodboard defines a creative look or aesthetic through reference images. A Brand Kit stores a brand's reusable identity, such as logos, colors, fonts, imagery, and brand guidance. Use a Moodboard for art direction, a Brand Kit for brand consistency, or both when you want content to follow a specific brand and campaign style.
A Moodboard guides visual style, while a Character preserves the likeness of a specific person. You can use them together to generate the same person within a consistent aesthetic.

Yes. Save separate Moodboards for different clients, campaigns, scenes, content series, products, or creative concepts. The number you can save may depend on your plan.

Magic Hour does not invent the Moodboard for you. You build it from your own images, then use it to guide AI image and video generation. This gives you direct control over the visual references behind the result.
You should only upload and use images that you own or have permission to use. Make sure your references and resulting content comply with applicable rights, licenses, and Magic Hour's terms.
